Originally developed by Yale University, CAS is a system that gives schools a trusted way for their applications to authenticate users. This single sign-on format allows a user or prospective student to log in once to access multiple applications, and can be integrated with any system. Hobsons has integrated CAS into the back-end of the EMT Connect CRM system, as well as its student-facing VIP pages. When users or prospective students log in to their VIP pages, they will now be authenticated by CAS. Once successfully authenticated, the user is redirected back to their VIP page, and has seamless access to other applications without the need for an additional sign-in.

With more than 90 campuses already using CAS, Hobsons aims to make integration easy and authentication seamless for its higher education clients with EMT Connect and VIP pages.

"Hobsons' first successful implementation with CAS integration has been with Indiana University. They have been using CAS authentication with the back-end of the EMT Connect product since August and just recently started using CAS with their VIP pages in October," said Sasha Peterson, managing director of Hobsons EMT.
