Are you ready for another journey to select the motion pictures that most deserve being enhanced with high definition, and becoming the next best selling title for DVD wholesalers? Here are the criteria we used. The movie must be aesthetically pleasing. It must be a cult favorite. The choice has to have at least one serious actor.

Here's the list, attending this time to the style, drama. The top three serious dramas that will shine on High Definition treatment are:

All About Eve (1950). Now this is a Hollywood-centric story, but it still qualifies. This movie won a Best Picture Oscar in 1950. The biographical fiction about a past-her-prime Hollywood star who is being outshone by a young ambitious starlet is an American classic. Acting by Bette Davis as Margo Channing and the lovely Ann Baxter as Eve Harrington put this motion picture on the list of truly impressive, especially Davis' turn where she dared to be filmed with only cold cream as make-up and donned in a bath robe.Wholesale DVDs sellers would be happy to have this recording in hi def. In the running also, but maybe even more impressive is Sunset Boulevard (1950), the morality tale of Norma Desmond's gauzy desire to appear again on a theatrical stage she long since left behind. The movie starred Gloria Swanson in a tour de force role as Norma Desmond. Which of these choices is most "Hi Def-worthy" is really a even balance, although Sunset Boulevard might have a small advantage because of the lushness of the sets, always great to view in HD. Wholesale DVDs aficianados: just for fun, here's a puzzler for you! From which picture comes the famous line: "All Right Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up?"

Schindler's List. This is by far the most grave and moving picture produced in the 1990s. It is the narrative of thousands of Jewish people who were saved from Hitler's Final Solution by one individual, Schindler and his family. The images of this motion picture are, to say the least, disturbing, so this suggestion that it deserves hi def treatment is an honor to the creative vision of Director, Steven Spielberg and Cinematographer Kaminski for the relentless honesty in this story. Little more need be said about a motion picture that won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Director and Music. It is highly unlikely that this picture will ever end up packaged with cheap bulk orders of wholesale DVDs.

Slumdog Millionaire. It cannot be gainsaid that the focus of HD was virtually tailor-made for this film. DVD wholesalers already have the HD dvd on the shelves. The intricate interweaving of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire", Indian version, with the tale of the main character having the responses to the questions because of his own experience is truly compelling. The music resonates through the film like a drumbeat. This movie won 8 Oscars and showed impressively at all of the other award presentations like Golden Globes as well. It raised some arguments because of its depiction of the slums of Mumbai, but that did not derail its achievements. This is another film that will be in the stock of wholesale dvds sellers for a very long time.

Stay tuned for more picks!
