Kozyak Tropin & Throckmorton Shareholder Cori Lopez-Castro Receives the President's Award from The Florida Bar
Miami, FL (PRWEB) July 20, 2007 -- Corali Lopez-Castro, of Miami, received The Florida Bar President's Award of Merit during the Bar's annual convention in Orlando on June 29. She is a shareholder in the Miami law firm Kozyak Tropin & Throckmorton where she concentrates her practice on bankruptcy matters and commercial litigation.
Bestowed by 2006-7 Bar President Hank Coxe, the award recognizes Lopez-Castro's steadfast dedication to the legal profession and The Florida Bar and her leadership and diligence in efforts to increase pro bono legal assistance.
Lopez-Castro became the second woman president of the Cuban American Bar Association (CABA) in 2006 after serving as a director, as vice president and as president-elect. She has served on the Dade County Bar Association's Judicial Campaign Practices Commission (2000-2005) and as vice chair or the American Bar Association's Litigation Subcommittee of the Business Law Section. She is also an active member of the Bankruptcy Bar Association of the Southern District of Florida.
Lopez-Castro received her law degree cum laude in 1990 from the University of Miami School of Law, where she was a member of the Inter-American Law Review. She received her bachelor's degree from Brown University.
In the award presentation, Coxe also recognized Lopez-Castro's commitment to inclusion and her "abiding commitment to providing justice for all."
